This appointment is for HPV testing only.
A cervical sample will be taken during a speculum examination and sent to the laboratory to check for high-risk types of human papillomavirus (HPV), which are associated with the majority of cervical cell changes and cervical cancers.
Before the test, we will review your screening history, discuss any relevant symptoms or concerns, and explain the procedure. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions before the sample is taken.
Please note: this option tests for high-risk HPV but does not include cytology, so the cervical cells are not examined for abnormal changes as part of this test.
If you would prefer a more comprehensive cervical screening option, we also offer Cytology + HPV Testing, which checks both for high-risk HPV and for abnormal changes in the cervical cells.
This is a private cervical screening service and does not replace NHS follow-up, colposcopy or specialist assessment where these are recommended.
